SEQ Catchments provides South East Queensland with a single, recognised NRM regional body with a focused, coordinated and integrated approach to managing and preserving the region's valuable natural resources.

We work closely local governments, urban and rural industries, community groups, Landcare groups, environmental groups, landowners and Traditional Owners to develop and implement on-ground project.

We are one of 15 Regional Bodies established in Queensland to deliver integrated natural resource management (NRM). We are endorsed under the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality ( NAP ) and Natural Heritage Trust ( NHT ).

SEQ Catchments is jointly owned by the two former regional NRM bodies in South East Queensland, Natural Resource Management SEQ Inc ( NRMSEQ ) and SEQ Western Catchments Group Inc ( SEQWCG ), who have agreed to form a single recognised regional body SEQ Catchments Ltd.

About the SEQ Region - our Natural Assets

The South East Queensland region incorporates Moreton Bay and Islands, Noosa, Maroochy/Mooloolah, Pumicestone, Pine Rivers, Redlands, Logan/Albert, Gold Coast, Bremer, Lockyer, Stanley, and the Upper, Mid and Lower Brisbane River catchment areas.

The region covers an area of approximately 23,000 square kilometres from Noosa to the Gold Coast and west to the Great Dividing Range. The region is the fastest growing metropolitan area in Australia and supports a population of 2.5 million people or 65 percent of Queensland 's population. This is expected to grow to 3.5 million people by 2021.

The region has a rich diversity of natural resources which supports a wide diversity of agricultural manufacturing industries, commerce and tourism. These natural resources are too precious to utilise without thought or plans for their sustainable use now and in the future.

This generation holds in trust, for the next and future generations, the things we need to sustain us and the environment in which we live, work or enjoy recreationally.
