Community engagement, collaboration and support underpin everything that SEQ Catchments does.
Our core activity is to engage with and support an extensive partner network includes Landcare, catchment and community groups, research organisations, Traditional Owners and individual landholders to carry out projects at the grassroots local level to meet the targets outlined in the SEQ NRM Plan.
This engagement is facilitated by a network of local Area Managers responsible for landholder and community engagement, project management, monitoring and evaluation of on-ground activities.
These Area Managers enjoy strong local networks and informal connections to the community strengthened by listening to and conversing with landholders and community members about issues on a daily basis.
This deep connection to the community is unique for an NRM organisation and is something many others don’t invest time in.
