Towards Sustainability program helps jobs and the environment
The first of two Green Jobs Corp teams who have been busy at Springbrook
and Beechmont clearing weeds, undertaking erosion control and
establishing wildlife corridors on private land are set to complete the
Towards Sustainability program next month. Read more
SEQ Catchments makes it a double at Healthy Waterways Awards
SEQ Catchments has taken out top honours at the annual Healthy Waterways
Awards, winning the 2011 Minister’s Grand Prize and ‘Seqwater - Rural
Award’ for its Rosevale floodplain reinstatement and land management

Carbon tax unveiled
The federal government released the details of the new Clean
Energy Plan this month. As expected, the release has dominated the
media. Read how landholders and management agencies, including SEQ
Catchments, can source support for the important work they do. Read more.
SEQ Catchments accepts Nissans for flood recovery effort
SEQ Catchments has received five Nissan vehicles from Queensland
Reconstruction Authority Chair, Major General Mick Slater to help in the
reconstruction and rehabilitation of the natural environment around
south-east Queensland. Read more
Annual Stakeholder and Funders’ Survey
The findings will see SEQ Catchments enhance its communication efforts
by better defining our role with regards to policy and planning;
renovating our website; assisting the SEQ Catchments Members Association
to better communicate our message to industry and community; support
for our Community Partnership Managers and extension officers; improving
the quality of funding submissions and developing Client Management
Plans to enhance engagement and reporting with our key funding partners.

Murphy's Creek debris clean-up and restoration
SEQ Catchments is working with the Helidon Hills Murphy's Creek Landcare
Group to remove debris from Murphy's Creek and undertake stream bank
restoration and protection works as well as weed management following
the January floods. View the video here
SEQ Catchments supports grant workshops
SEQ Catchments has joined forces with Landcare Queensland and solar
company Nickel Energy to run a series of workshops for landcare
volunteers to learn how to write a successful grant submission. Read more

Q2 continues core funding for SEQC Catchments
SEQ Catchments recently received $780,000 in core funding from the
Queensland Government’s Q2 Coasts and Country program. SEQ Catchments
is still awaiting confirmation of additional government funding required
to continue the successful Healthy Country project as well its flood
clean up and recovery work across South East Queensland. Read the

Funding boost for Queensland Water and Land Carers
One of Queensland’s peak bodies for Natural Resource Management
volunteers, Queensland Water and Land Carers, have been given almost $1
million in funding over the next three years. Read more
Major statewide infrastructure plan to strengthen regions
A pioneering Queensland infrastructure blueprint for the next 20 years
has today been released by the State Government for consultation. Read more
Queensland Regionalisation Strategy released
The Queensland Government has launched the Queensland
Regionalisation Strategy highlighting the essential role of regional
areas to cater for future population growth. Read more
