Get Involved This World Wetlands Day - 2nd February
The 2 February marks World Wetlands Day, which is celebrated across the globe each year. There will be a series of events across the region to raise public awareness of the importance of wetlands to people, wildlife and landscapes, and promote the conservation and sustainable management of wetlands. Protecting Swamp Tea-tree Forest: a wetland unique to SEQ
World Wetlands Day is celebrated around the globe every February to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands. One way SEQ Catchments, Powerlink GreenWorks and local landholders are already taking action is to save a wetland unique to South East Queensland – Swamp Tea-tree Forest. Read more.
SEQ Mangrove Rehabilitation Stems Erosion and Creates Jobs
A collaborative project is underway on the Sunshine Coast to rehabilitate mangrove areas on the edges of caneland farms of the upper Maroochy estuary, to improve local ecosystems, fish habitat and water quality whilst also providing additional employment opportunities among local Aboriginal groups.

South East Queensland's last remaining unprotected bushland corridor has been preserved for the benefit of future generations to come Natural Resources Minister Rachel Nolan said. Read more.
