SEQ Catchments CEO Simon Warner has accepted five Nissan vehicles from Queensland Reconstruction Authority Chair, Major General Mick Slater to help in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the natural environment around south-east Queensland.

One of the cars will be given to the Lockyer Valley Regional Council to use in the clean-up of debris in Murphy’s Creek. Another will be used to support the Pine Rivers Catchment Association for rehabilitation and stabilisation works at Lacey’s Creek.

The donation is part of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority’s Join Forces campaign which matches corporates and business with non-for-profit groups around the State.

Community groups and organisations can apply to Join Forces by

  1. Logging onto www.qldreconstruction.org.au and go to the Join Forces link.
  2. Fill in the details of your community group and the support you need. Once verified by the Authority the corporate world can view your story.
  3. Corporates can use the same link and search the community groups by type of club/group or by location to find one or multiple to support.
