16-Jan-2012
SEQ Catchments has unveiled a new website and launched a Facebook page to engage with as many people as possible to help protect the biodiversity, catchments and waterways of SE Queensland.
SEQ Catchments CEO Simon Warner said the new website will be a key tool in keeping stakeholders engaged on natural resource management issues within the South East region.
‘‘Here at SEQ Catchments we are always looking at ways to improve the way we communicate with our stakeholders. With a more interactive media section, easier to understand information, as well as downloadable maps, case studies, and an events calendar, we plan to keep our visitors informed and up to date on SEQ Catchments’ latest activities, programs and services,’’ he said.
“We’ve also made it easier for people to donate online to help support our work with landholders, government and community groups to repair and manage creek banks, waterways, bushland, beaches and farmland in South East Queensland.”
SEQ Catchments is also venturing into the word of social media for the first time, with a new SEQ Catchments facebook page, to broaden our conversation about how we manage our natural resources. ‘Like’ our page and keep up to date with the latest news, information and events.
The new website will help generate a wider appreciation of the impact of personal and collective actions on the environment as well as a better understanding of how SEQ Catchments is working with local communities to take action.
