SEQ Catchments Welcomes New Regional Landcare Facilitator
01-Aug-2011
Apanie Wood has recently taken on the role of Regional Landcare Facilitator for SEQ. Based in Ipswich at SEQ Catchments, Apanie works to support Landcare, production groups and other land managers to adopt sustainable farm and land management practices and to protect our landscape.
‘‘I’m looking forward to meeting members of local Landcare and catchment groups over the next few months,’’ she said.
The Regional Landcare Facilitator program provides training and information to land managers and local communities through facilitation of workshops, field days and information materials. In order to provide the support that landholders and community groups need, Apanie will be working closely SEQ Catchments Community Partnership Managers to identify what land management issues are most important to the communities of SEQ.
Previous to her role as Regional Landcare Facilitator, Apanie has been working with SEQ Catchments in their flood response efforts since the beginning of 2011. For more information on the RLF role, click here.
